Chris's Shoes are always untied
Chris's Shoes are always scuffed
His shoes are on the wrong feet
But he's my little boy, he's my little boy
He's my son
His fingernails are always bitten
His hair an inch too long
He rides his bike at top speed
Yes, he's my little boy, he's my little boy
The son I love
(But) One day he'll grow up and go out on his own
One day he'll grow up and he'll be gone
One day he'll grow up, gonna find his own way
One day he'll grow up and he'll be gone
Keeps worms in the refrigerator,
Science project one shelf above
On his bedpost, recycled bubble gum
Yes, he's my little boy, he's my little boy
The son I love
Runs like the wind, he's on the track team
Gets ribbons for the honor roll
Has adolescent insecurity
Such a lovely contradiction, he's the one I'd pick
To be my son
(And) One day he'll grow up and go out on his own
One day he'll grow up and he'll be gone
One day he'll grow up, gonna find his own way
One day he'll grow up and he'll be gone
Chris's Shoes are always untied...
