If Only You Were Here Dad, if only you could see
Just how much I look like you Dad
There's this picture Mom gave to me
I'm growing up without you, but I feel I know you just the same
You fought for Mom and me, You fought to keep us free
And I'm so proud to have your name

If Only You Were Here Dad, all the things that we would do
Just me and Mom and you Dad  P.S. I love you

I'm writing you this letter, just one more I know you'll never see
'Cause every time I write to you Dad,
It brings you so much closer to me

If Only You Were Here Dad, all the things that we would do
Just me and Mom and you, Dad  P.S. I love you

If Only You were Here Dad, I would hope that you'd agree
I'm turning out to be just like you Dad
That's what Momma says to me
I'm growing up without you , but I feel I know you just the same
You fought for Mom and me, You fought to keep us free
And I'm so proud to have your name

If Only You Were Here Dad, all the things that we would do
Just me and Mom and you Dad
P.S. I love you   P.S. I love you   P.S. I miss you
