Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day
Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day
copyright 2001 words and music, Jackie Marx
English studio version. Vocals by Jackie Marx
Celtic instruments: Michael McClanathan
Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day ( a song that was written by Jackie Marx on the day the war started in Afghanistan--a song that poured from her heart) has begun to find its way into the heart of America.

This grassroots movement used the song as its centerpiece, as it spread healing to the  rescue personnel  (first-response teams) from New
Jersey and New York. THIS VERSION IS AVAILABLE ON CD.

The Westernaires Choir of Sun City West was the first choir to perform the Klaus Sander  choral arrangement  of this 9/11 song; they received a standing ovation for their heartfelt performance, which was dedicated to Jackie's mother, Irma Wolford.

NEVER FORGET
In the glory of the morning we said goodbye
How could we know how it would go?
The things we took for granted, foundations blown away
Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day

Lost and gone forever--our innocence
How could we know that it would go?
America is wounded, but we will find our way
Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day

And we will never forget, it's burned in our soul
Our love of God and freedom will keep our nation whole

We'll mourn our loss forever--that last goodbye
And now we know how it will go
The eagle in the firestorm will show the world the way
Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day

And we will never forget, it's burned in our soul
Our love of God and freedom will keep our nation whole

The eagle in the firestorm will show the world the way
